Break Free from Stable Misery.

The number one reason relationships in any area of our lives fail is because of faulty communication habits. And yet, too many of us are avoiding uncomfortable conversations and tolerating relationships where we feel unseen, unheard, and just plain unhappy. In order to break free from this cycle, known as stable misery, and create deep, lasting changes in our relationships with others, we must begin by creating deep, lasting changes in our relationship with ourselves. In this keynote, audience members demystify what stable misery looks like, how it’s created and maintained, where it might be showing up in our lives, and how to move out of it. By learning a new approach to mindset and communication, attendees will be set up to create thriving relationships and bring their full selves to their professional and personal lives.

Go from Triggered to Transformed

Most people enter parenting and romantic relationships, determined not to repeat the communication and behavioral patterns they experienced growing up. They enter work relationships determined not to allow their personal past to impact their professionalism. And yet, within time, they find themselves overreacting when triggered and using the same words and tone they swore they would avoid. In this eye-opening and heart-expanding keynote, audience members learn to honor their past so they can stop repeating old, unhelpful patterns. They discover how to quickly identify when they’re in danger of reacting versus responding and cultivate the practices and self-trust to shift their unhelpful relationship patterns. In the process, they will learn how to decrease their unhelpful reactions to others’ difficult behaviors, so they can enjoy work, relationships, and parenting more.

This keynote can also be delivered as a half or full-day workshop.

Intergenerational Drama: Create a Legacy of Healing

Trauma is an event (or series of events) that occurs in an individual's life that impairs their ability to function or relate in some way. It can be hard to identify and sense the impact of trauma in our lives, especially if it occurred many generations ago. Yet, most of us can recognize that our families unintentionally pass down a lot of “stuff” to children and loved ones. In this timely, needed keynote, audience members discover Dr. Willis’ research-based P.A.T.H.S model to facilitate awareness, healing, and self-empowerment. Attendees will illuminate the legacy they want to create as they demystify how to create new patterns for relationships within their families that get passed down to future generations.

This presentation can be geared toward members of the BIPOC community, LGBTQ+ families, and families who have been impacted by violence.

Dr. Willis vulnerably shares how she once used her business as an escape hatch when she felt she was drowning in family troubles and how she learned to voice her needs for connection, space, joy, and peace. Through this presentation, audience members demystify the primary sources and key indicators of stable misery, how to move out of the business mistress cycle if they land there, and how to create more harmony in their homes and businesses.
